How to fight: the MMO camera and auto-attack
Combat on Windlands works like in classic MMORPGs. You don't need to spam clicks on a mob: you pick a target, and your hero runs in and hits at the pace of their weapon. Your job is to choose a spot, watch your health, and press skills at the right moment.
Figures current as of 2026-09-24.
MMO camera
Press F5 until the MMO camera kicks in: a top-down, over-the-shoulder view with a free cursor, like games from the 2000s.
- Left-click a mob — target it without attacking.
- Right-click a mob — target and attack. The ring turns red, and your hero runs in and starts hitting.
- R — attack the current target, or the nearest one if nothing's targeted. Pressing R again mid-fight switches to the next-nearest.
- W/A/S/D — leave combat.
- Alt — lock the cursor and fight "aim-down," like in vanilla Minecraft. Pressing Alt again frees the cursor.
Auto-attack never hits other players: you can't accidentally attack someone with a click.
The map helps too: open it (M), right-click a spot, and your hero runs the route on their own.
Attack pace
Every weapon has its own attack speed. Only a hit landed with a fully charged weapon counts (watch the bar near the crosshair or cursor) — spam-clicking does nothing extra. On the plus side, several players can hit the same mob at once, and hits don't knock the target back, so a mob never gets knocked out from under your blade.
Auto-attack in a circle
Auto-attack is the main tool for relaxed grinding. Stand on a spot, open the auto-attack window (H), and start it. Your hero will automatically fight mobs inside a circle around the starting point, returning to the center between targets.
| Setting | Current value |
|---|---|
| Circle radius | 10, 15, or 20 blocks |
| Skill queue | up to 6 skills |
| Auto-attack energy | trial allowance of 30 minutes, cap of 200 minutes |
| How to refill | yellow auto-attack flasks (from the potion vendor) |
Coming soon (in development): energy will regenerate on its own (roughly a 2.5-hour reserve), auto-potions will trigger by a health threshold, and the radius will grow to 30 blocks. Figures may change.
Skills
The skills window opens with K, and the bar has 10 slots on keys 1–0. Learn or upgrade a skill with the "LEARN" / "UPGRADE" buttons in the window.
Right now everyone has access to 7 shared skills: First Aid, Second Wind, Meditation, Vitality, Inner Power, Toughening, Fleet Foot.
Class skill trees (13 active and 12 passive skills per class) unlock together with class selection, see Classes.
Resetting your skills costs 250 karats, no more than once a day.
Health, mana, and flasks
Health and mana show next to your hero's portrait on screen. Outside of combat, they slowly regenerate on their own.
Flasks (health and mana potions) drink instantly on right-click and heal the full amount over 2 seconds.
| Health flask | Heals |
|---|---|
| Small | 80 |
| Medium | 500 |
| Large | 2,500 |
| Grand | 10,000 |
Flasks of the same kind have a 10-second cooldown, or 30 seconds in PvP combat (10 seconds after you're hit by a player).
Weapons and their traits
Every weapon type has its own right-click ability (for the bow, it's Shift + right-click):
| Weapon | How it feels | Right-click |
|---|---|---|
| Shortsword | fast attacks, standard damage | "Frenzy" — faster hits |
| Longsword | slow attacks, heavy damage, 3.5-block range | "Bulwark" — +25% defense |
| Dagger | very fast attacks, frequent crits, short range | "Rush" — +25% move speed |
| Dual Blades | one blade in each hand, high pace | "Whirlwind" — faster hits |
| Bow | ranged combat | "Swift String" — very rapid shots |
| Staff | hold left-click for an attack spell, right-click to heal (up to 20 blocks) | — |
Buffs last 30–60 seconds and have a 3–5 minute cooldown.

What to hit
Every mob shows a level and a health bar. The nameplate color tells you how strong the mob is — see the Levels and XP guide for how to read it.
